Bring your project to life

Rapson Collaborative is now funding original musical projects that explore critical social issues. Awardees can receive up to $5,000 for projects that tell marginalized histories, support underrepresented artists and engage diverse communities.

Call for Grant Proposals

Rapson Collaborative’s call for grant proposals opens on November 1, 2024 and closes on March 28, 2025. 
We will award up to 5 grants per season, ranging between $500 and $5000 per grant. Awardees will be notified by June 1, 2025. 

Selected projects will be those that best demonstrate a commitment to creatively serve Rapson Collaborative’s mission: 

Rapson Collaborative is a non-profit arts organization supporting original musical projects that explore critical social issues. Rapson Collaborative fosters collaboration between artists and audiences with an emphasis on projects that tell marginalized histories, support underrepresented artists and engage diverse communities.

Rapson Collaborative is eager to consider a range of proposals across genres and eager to hear from artists and creators from a variety of backgrounds.

Dates & Deadlines

November 1, 2024: Begin accepting new applications

March 28, 2025: Deadline of application submissions.

June 1, 2025: Date by which grant awardees will be announced.

Yes. We welcome repeat submissions, though there is no advantage to having received a grant in a previous cycle; each year’s applicant pool will be evaluated on its own merits. 
Yes. Both of our 2024 recipients were awarded support for new phases of ongoing programs. In fact, we don’t require either that a program be new or continuing. Our evaluation of applications focuses on the work being done in the year of the grant award and the explanation of the need and its alignment with our organizational mission statement. 

Projects

Esteban and the Children of the Sun is a suite of 14 songs that tell the story of Esteban, the first African to travel across North America.

Hot Tamale Louie tells the story of Zarif Khan, an immigrant from Afghanistan to the United States at the turn of the 20th Century.
